The goal of this primer
is to give a general overview of the types of multimedia
products available, the kinds of elements used in
creating a multimedia project, and the way a multimedia
project is actually produced. But first: What is
multimedia? Well, our fancy-pants definition is:
computer-based delivery of multiple media, including
text, sound, video, graphics, and, most importantly,
INTERACTIVITY. Basically, then, it’s a dynamic way
of getting your message (whatever it is) across
to a "user," who not only reads and views what is
happening but also directly interacts with your
product. Multimedia programs have applications in
virtually every field, including entertainment,
education, advertising, promotions, services, presentations,
and information gathering. |
